Intro
Welcome back to the SLS.
Another 365 days down for Second Lake and for this newsletter.
As the year wraps itself up, it’s important to take a moment to reflect on everything that has taken place. SL has kept true to itself over on Instagram while the SLS has been so fruitful week after week. The friends within and surrounding SL are good and thriving. It truly feels like things are quite well in this pocket of the internet.
I’m grateful for the fact that this newsletter has allowed myself the ability to connect with you all so easily and rapidly. I’ve spent countless hours over the past year in email chains with guests that you’ve seen on the newsletter, with people behind the scenes at brands we love, with skate shop owners, artists, students, etc. It’s work, but it’s fulfilling work. It’s more than an email sent to you every other week, it’s a connection.
At this point in time, the SLS member count has made way into the few hundred area, which is remarkable. I won’t take that for granted, not for a moment. Seeing that kind of support really hammers home the fact that SL isn’t a moodboard. It isn’t a throwaway account. It isn’t for nothing. It’s become something of its own, with people adding to the attitude and style of it every single day. It’s a lens on modern culture that has resonated with you, which like I mentioned before, I’m grateful for.
You have made SL into what it is.
Heading into the new year, it’s more of what we all know best. At the core, quality recommendations and good guests to share their takes. Those are certainties, but there will be even more. It’s all on the drawing board at the moment, but the wheels are turning. The stovetop is cranked all the way and the pots are starting to simmer. We’re cooking, ladies and gentlemen.
Thank you for your continued support and love. You are appreciated.
Have a great rest of your year.
We’ll see you in 2024.
