Hello all!
I hope this finds you well. If you can’t tell from the title, I’m going to move the SLS into a schedule format where editions will come at you when they’re ready rather than bi-weekly. The past year or so has been an immense amount of fun. The research and development that has gone down at the SL HQ for this newsletter has been heavy and it’s lead to some great editions and guest profiles. That said, I need to take the foot off the gas a bit. It’s for the better, trust.
I’m not a writer by trade, actually. Just someone who felt a need to share good things and people as I found them. And, to be frank, I think I did a solid job doing so. I’m proud of all of the past editions, yet I’m almost more excited for the future ones to come. The only commitment that needs to change is the frequency at which these newsletters come out. As with everyone, life comes fast. Time is elusive. I’ve found myself in situations where I was under prepared to write and I’d end up having to skip crucial phases to meet my own deadlines. That’s never ideal. Can’t force magic.
For those who have been steady reading up on the SLS, you are everything. You make this work worth it. Thank you.
For those that might be put off by this news, fair play. If it’s any consolation, my friends are incredible at this type of thing too. @streetnightlive does incredible write ups, as with Daniel J, with Wear Are We? pieces. Even SL guest profile alumni @jeodoretoel just co-launched his new Substack on menswear called Thread Space that’s starting to shape up mighty well. There’s a plethora of good content all around us, thankfully.
I’ll send out an update on the new format in 2 weeks giving you all there is to know on what to expect. Thank you for being here. Much love, SL.
